Friends
Before I made the next of what will likely be a bunch of posts about Zoe, I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for their good wishes and support. I've been very lucky in my life. I've made wonderful friends who have helped me through some very difficult times. Yesterday, however, I learned even more about friendship. It may be difficult to be there for a friend when they are going through hard times, but it is even more difficult I imagine to be there for them when they are happy when you yourself have been disappointed or are upset. So Karen, Shawn, Ellen, Rick, Melanie, David, Pam, Robert, Toni, and Tom......thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your phone calls and e-mails of good wishes yesterday. Our joy right now is great, but it will be even greater when we finally see the faces of your little ones next month. You are all exceptional people, and we and our daughter are lucky to have you in our lives.

Kristi - now you have left me with the tears that eluded me yesterday. Thank you so much for such a lovely and heartfelt post. We have learned a lot about friendship in these past months and there is nothing like people who are there for you when the going is rough and when the going is the greatest thing around. Thank you so much for this - it's really lovely that you're thinking of us at this time of your heart bursting with joy. We can't wait to hear more about Zoe. I agree with Melanie. Thanks so much for thinking of us at this time. Of course we want to share in your excitement and joy! Seeing Zoe's adorable face will keep us going for the next month! So, bring on the posts about her! We are all going to watch and then follow the road you set before us. Without friends, this journey would be impossible.

We are just so happy for both you and Eric. It has been the one thing that hasn't taken the sting out of this batch of referrals. You and Eric are going to be such fantastic parents and we can't wait to see the rest of this journey. Since China won't be a trip to take together it will have to be Disney in a couple years.
Enjoy the sheer glee that you have and embrass the happines for we are truly happy for you and Eric.

Rick and I are celebrating alongside both of you. We treasure our friendship with both of you,and everyone else in our group that we have formed making this long journey to our children in China. Had we not had this long wait we wouldn't have had the time to develop our friendships.
We were elated to hear of the news of Zoe! She is an absolute doll! We know you and Eric will be awesome parents. I think Zoe probably already has Daddy wrapped around her pinkie. We can not wait to meet Zoe!!
Enjoy this time. Celebrate and savor every minute, you both deserve the BEST! We are so overjoyed for you! Bring on the posts!

Tom and I still have a long wait ahead of us (Aug.? Sept.?), and seeing these lovely, bright faces keeps us going, and reminds us that our time will come, and it will all be worth it.
